Artist Statement

To Fei, art is about perception and sensitivity.
It is the act of observing, reflecting, recognizing, absorbing, sharing, and approaching the intrinsic value of all beings with both openness and depth. It is both a personal and a liberating experience.

Art-making, in its essence, is the ability to embrace the unknown.
It means confronting challenges, accepting what is, and instinctively responding to the world that shapes us. It's a process of filtering our experiences through the lens of individuality, and then emerging with something that resonates universally. It's a journey of self-transcendence—
a sobering release from the limits we place on ourselves.

We express what we hold onto, and then we let it go.
In doing so, we express appreciation for the world around us and, in return, gain a deeper sense of self-awareness.

As a contemporary fine artist, Fei approaches her practice with humility and a deep commitment to continuous self-challenge. It is this pursuit that fuels her creativity and drives her to push beyond perceived limits. Her work spans various disciplines, including painting, drawing, graphic design, photography, sculpture, and typography. She explores a wide range of media—such as oil, acrylic, gouache, watercolor, pastel, pen, pencil, Chinese ink, mixed materials, and digital tools—allowing flexibility and depth in her creative expression.

Rather than adhering to a fixed style, Fei embraces a fluid visual language. In recent years, her work has evolved to merge elements of Concretism, Abstraction, and Surrealism. This fusion reflects both an inner emotional landscape and an external response to the world around her—creating a dialogue between self-expression and environment.
